W.F Kumuyi was born on June 6, 1941 in osun state, Nigeria. He completed his secondary school education in 1961 and started teaching mathematics at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun-State in 1962. From there, he proceeded to having his university education at the University of Lagos where he graduated with a first-class degree honour in mathematics. It was during his years at the university as a lecturer that he started a small Bible study group which had now grown to what is known as the Deeper Life Bible Church today.

Pastor W.F Kumuyi founded the Deeper Life ministry otherwise known as the Deeper Life Bible Church. It all started in 1973 while He (Kumuyi) was lecturing Mathematics at the university of Lagos. A group of 15 students approach him for training in the scriptures and he created a small Bible study group. He was a former Anglican who joined the Apostolic Faith Church after being his baptism. Kumuyi was expelled from the church for preaching without credentials in 1975. This didn’t stop him, as he continues his independent ministry which became what is now known as Deeper Life Bible Church in 1982. Deeper Life Bible Church was named the World’s largest Megachurch by Foreign Policy magazine in 2013. This ministry that just started with just 15 persons had grown so big that it had become a Brand among the Nigerian Christians cutting across all locations in Nigeria. Not only in Nigeria, Deeper Life Bible Church has presence in sub-saharan Africa, United Kingdom, Western Europe, North America, Russia and India.
